How We Work

We are eclectic in our methodology and methods. We believe in keeping things simple, but know also that careful mixing of different methods can strengthen research and provide richer, potentially more generalizable results.

We are experienced in action research and co-operative inquiry, narrative approaches, case studies, survey research and quasi-experimental designs (with control groups). Our qualitative and quantitative data collection includes documentary analysis, publication research, interviews and focus groups, observations, surveys and embedded data collection. We have country-wide contacts to sense-check project findings.

Presentation of findings can confidential or for public consumption and independent or collaborative (with our commissioners and research participants). The format can be a single document or  as part of a suite of outputs including: strategy, policy, service design and specification/improvement, cost-benefit analysis, practice guidance, training courses or manuals, conferences and/or community education.
